Tonyrefail Family Fun day

Sunday 19th February in Tonyrefail Leisure Centre saw a fantastic turnout to the Tonyrefail and Gilfach Goch family fun day. Initial estimates are that between 1,200 and 1,300 adults children and teenagers took part in the event.

Activities included inflatable slides and bungy run, a surf rider and bouncy castles for all ages. In addition a large number of partner organisations had a wide range of stalls which included information advice stands, arts and crafts and fundraising events.

Volunteers the key to Community Empowerment

Community members are the essence of good development practice and how we work with them to further empower them is vital if we are to see sustained development and growth at a local level.

While it is important to focus our work and develop a programme that gives a definable set of outcomes it is just as important to recognise that this cannot be successful without a plan for continuous community capacity building. Play Day

Sunday 22nd May.

What an amazing day! First of all a massive thank you to all the volunteers, community members and community groups who made the day such a success. It was incredible to see so many people come together to enjoy the fun.

The day started with a bit of a worry, namely the weather. However we soon reverted to plan b and moved the activities indoors. To be fair to the brilliant staff they had it planned perfectly and we only actually lost two events, the water slide and the stocks ...

Welcome

Hi everyone and welcome to what will probably be quite a random thought process. After months of trying to get the old website sorted, and failing miserably we have decided to use this software to create a new site which we can have complete control of instead of using a web hosting company.
